Bluesology Freddy Robinson.

In a career spanning 50 years, guitarist Freddy Robinson, played with Ray Charles, Bobby Blue Bland, Howlin' Wolf, Little Walter and dozens of lesser-known artists in blues and R&B. Thanks to an early exposure to jazz, he graduated from the ranks of ear players to more sophisticated musical company, but he retained an affection for his past and a pride in. his early work. He played on Mayall's album Jazz Blues Fusion and LPs by the jazz trumpeter Blue Mitchell. He also recorded a couple of albums in his own name for Enterprise, a subsidiary of Stax. In the relaxed blues ambience of tracks such as Bluesology, a memoir of nights playing at Theresa's Lounge in Chicago, and At the Drive-In, Robinson revealed a gift for wry narrative, after the manner of Charles's songwriter Percy Mayfield.

Bluesology was a 1960s English R&B popular music group, best remembered as being the first professional band of which Reginald Dwight – later known as Elton John – was a member. From about 1960, organist Reginald Dwight – then aged 13 – and his neighbour, singer and guitarist Stewart "Stu" Brown, performed with a local group, the Corvettes, in Pinner, Middlesex, a suburb of London.
