I like to think that Giuseppe Scarlatti would have enjoyed composing this enjoyable romp, which really is very funny even by modern standards. Even the theatre and staging are true to the period in which the work was composed. Dove e Amore e Gelosia (Where there's Love there's Jealousy) is a masterpiece in its own right,. Giuseppe Scarlatti does what he set out to do and composed a masterpiece in its own particular genre of the joyful romp. I'm sure that many other viewers will jump for joy at this performance just as I do. How wonderful it is that there was a third Scarlatti who lived and wrote it.
The musical director was Vojtěch Spurný. The best musicians were invited to collaborate along with young musicians to form an orchestra. The soloists, from the National Theatre in Prague were Kateřina Kněžíková, Jaroslav Březina, Aleš Briscein and Lenka Máčiková. To achieve a quality opera performance, the producers cooperated with renowned authors and performers, prepared demanding costumes and respected all rules to further preserve the illusion of such an admired baroque stage. The end product is a one-of-a-kind experience that will transport you to another time.

Giuseppe Scarlatti (1718 or 18 June 1723, Naples – 17 August 1777, Vienna) was a composer of opere serie and opere buffe. He worked in Rome from 1739 to 1741, and from 1752 to 1754 in Florence, Pisa, Lucca and Turin. From 1752 to 1754, and again from 1756 to 1759, he worked in Venice and for short periods in Milan and Barcelona. In 1760 he moved to Vienna, where he enjoyed the friendship of Christoph Willibald Gluck
