By Scott Yanow: Bobby Medina's ambitious Between Worlds project is well titled. His mother came from Mexico, his father is from the . and his wife was originally from Sweden, so he has had plenty of exposure to different worlds and cultures. The title Between Worlds also applies to the wide variety of music that is featured on this release. While many of the performances are Latin jazz and utilize an orchestra, not every selection is orchestral, Latin or purely jazz. However there is a unity to the set with each performance being melodic and consistently creative.

Walk Between Worlds is the eighteenth studio album by Scottish rock band Simple Minds, released on 2 February 2018 by BMG Rights Management. Walk Between Worlds heralds major lineup changes for Simple Minds. After a period of relative stability since the early 2000s, only vocalist Jim Kerr, guitarist Charlie Burchill and bassist Ged Grimes remain from the previous studio album, Big Music.

Worlds is the debut studio album by the American electronic music producer Porter Robinson, released on August 12, 2014 by Astralwerks in the United States and by Virgin EMI Records internationally. The album exhibits a shift in Robinson's music style from the heavy, bass-fueled complextro of his previous work to a more alternative form of electronic music.

My thanks to Michael Tucker for a wonderful feature article. Please check out the article below for the full story. Also super excited that it elicited such an enthusiastic response (please read it and support Jazz Journal!). Thank you Michael Tucker and to everyone involved in the project both in North and South America.

A most welcome CD reissue, Medina/Spiral pairs two accomplished sessions by the Bobby Hutcherson-Harold Land quintet from 1968 and 1969 (neither was officially released until 1979-80), which marked the first two times the official lineup of Hutcherson, tenor Land, pianist Stanley Cowell, bassist Reggie Johnson, and drummer Joe Chambers all recorded together as a unit.

I (5) ‎– Between Two Worlds. Label: Nuclear Blast ‎– NB 1750-2, Nuclear Blast ‎– 22. The result are without doubt something reminiscent of Immortal’s original sound, although a bit more heavy than the previous album(Sons Of Northern Darkness). It seems like a lot of ideas and sound was carried on to the new record, and it stands very well on its own. A must listen if you like Norwegian Black Metal.
